Robert, the 5 volt line is used by the pcm for diagnostic purposes. It is how the pcm senses opens or shorts. If one of the sensors shorts the 5 volt supply, the computer shuts off the 5 volt output untill it see's that the short is gone. I have seen a few no ... Login to read more.
