Heating a caliper excessively can DEFINATELY cause a Kaboom. I have had it happen. I don't like to use a lot of heat, but I do know it is sometimes needed. If anything, isolate that heat to a very small area, very fast and cool it asap. And if possible, crack... Login to read more.
