I have seen 2 other pumps broken like that. Both 6.0l engines in GTOs. From what I have found the o-ring on the oil pick up tube looses it's seal and causes a "run dry" situation. On your new engine try and get the melling high volume pump and BRP sells a oil ... Login to read more.
