Mercedes P0340 Camshaft hall sensor no signal
Posted to Technical Discussion Forum on 6/10/2013 11 Replies

Hi. I have a Mercedes C200 Kompressor. Continually have fault code; P0340 Cam shaft hall sensor Intake side, no signal appearing. The code will clear, but come back as soon as the engine is started. We have replaced sensor with genuine Mercedes, still the same. We have checked live feed to sensor, 11.8v and the feed is still present under cranking and is not lost. Scoped sensor, good pattern at sensor and at the ecu wiring plug. It seems the ecu cannot see the sensor. Sounds like an ecu fault, just wondered if anyone else had problems with these. No oil present in wiring harness. We have had mixture fault codes with this vehicle which all turned out to be broken breather pipes above the super charger, these codes cleared and not re-appeared. The cam fault code was there before any work was carried out.

Any help or info would be gratefully appreciated.

Nigel from Great Britain
