Hi Steve, I can't tell you why, but I would expect to see po420/430 codes pop up very soon, pushing that much oil through the cats can't be good. I do know that GM says 1qt in 1k miles is not excessive but 4qts sure is. Is he using synthetic oil? If so it does... Login to read more.
