I think I would go with the 9" Ford. It was used in a lot of pickups and will probably hold up fine with the weight of the the Caddy. Sounds like a neat project by the way. We put a 500 Caddy motor and TH400 Trans in a 57 Coupe DeVille a couple of years... Login to read more.
