The '83 1.8 has a gear driven oil pump and distributor. Multiple installation/ timing options. on the oil pump shaft, it makes no difference. Not so on the distributor. The '82 has a 1.8, but a different head, cam, rockers, etc. I do know that the head ... Login to read more.
