Mike: .3 of an amp (300 ma)is still too much of a draw,should be like .070(70ma). You might have a bad ignition switch,just guessing. Check and see if a wrench sticks to the alternator pulley with the key on then turn off the key if the wrench still sticks eit... Login to read more.
