I have never seen a secondary or primary waveform scope pattern that could separate the rotor gap from the plug gap.

Generally a rule of thumb on rotor gap voltage is 80v per .001 distance. If the plugs were gaped at .040 then 40x80 = 3200 volts or 3.2KV. Login to read more.
