That manual is one of the manuals I looked at. The first OBD codes are P01xx. There are no P00xx codes. The first P00xx codes start with Motronic 7.8 and they have no hex codes and no P0044. I'd be glad to send portions of the manual if you get codes properly ... Login to read more.
