Re: Broken crank gear - why?
The balancer looks fine. [2008 Pontiac Montana SV6,
Engine/Propulsion Photo] The key itself looks ok outside
of the back that is sheared off. It's possible the very back
section of the key actually broke and then the gear sheared
the rest off.
