Re: Broken crank gear - why?
I used to see this occasionally on several Toyota models. Timing belt would be replaced and crankshaft pulley bolt would not be torqued to spec. The woodruff key by itself is an alignment aid. The pulley and gear is held in place by the bolt torque. Improperly... Login to read more. ![]()
