Yep, agreed. It will take a considerably higher torque value to take a fastener from say, 50lb/ft to 60lb/ft than it would to start at 20lb/ft and go to 60lb/ft in one shot. If you torque the fastener to 50lb/ft, then set the wrench to 60lb/ft and try to turn ... Login to read more.
