Scott, 68 ohms is the ABSOLUTE lowest value you can SAFELY use on the "L" terminal on the 4 terminal GM alternator voltage regulator, to "kick' (excite) the alternator. Did you connect the resistor to switched ignition, and NOTHING ELSE? Louie Login to read more.
