Gary.....I was taught to ALWAYS put about 4 dabs of thick bearing grease on any garter to absorb the shock of the hammer blows when tapping in a seal WITH one.....just to make sure it STAYED put.....peace of mind...because ya can't SEE up in there it verify it... Login to read more.
