Could it be the "carbon buildup on the skirt-less piston" syndrome?? My 2000 Silverado did this from new 'till about 2004/30k, coincidentally when they removed the mtbe from the fuel here on Long Island. Has 88k on it now and haven't heard it si... Login to read more.
