Can you change the odometer reading with a used BCM

Hello all,

We had a BCM issue not sending the 5 volt signal to the wiper switch. High mileage vehicle and the customer wanted to go a used route instead of over 700 clams for a new BCM. Everything works and it passes inspection now that the wipers work.
