I am doing a re-assembly of a wheel spindle of a Caterpillar product. When doing the bearing pre-load SIS instructs as follows:

Install a number of shims (4) that is equal to the average gap plus 0.0787 + 0.0000 - 0.051 mm (0.0031 + 0.0000 - 0.0020 inch).
