Reprogram after TAC module replacement?

Hello all,

Found multiple posts in archive ref TAC module replacement. Code P1581. Local GM states has to reprogram after replacement. Nothing in archives notes that. Have done Grand prixs etc and did not need to. Can anybody confirm or deny this?
