I am replacing the ecm on a 04 vw new beetle Awp 1.8 L engine. Shopkey and alldata say it can be done with a generic scan tool. I can recode the 5 digit code readily, but I can't figure how to burn the vin into the new ecm. I have a pass-thru pro, but it won't... Login to read more.
