James, that jelly is just varnish and rust from the tank. I had a time with a 69 Shelby GT500 I built the engine on. (428 SCJ) Originality was the key on this job, so I made a concerted attempt to clean the tank vs. replacing it. The car had set for 13 years. ... Login to read more. ![]()
