I'll throw in my 2 cents, but it may go contrary to the majority.

Except for lubing slide pins, I don't put anything on shims or brackets.

IMHO, the lube itself can attract brake dust and road dirt and cause things to get jammed up. Plus, ya start slapping... Login to read more.
