I haven't had to do any on a Matrix yet, but tons on Corollas,Yaris,Echo,Tercel,etc. Are you 100% sure the FRONT O2 sensor is plugged under the front carpet? All the ones I've seen have front O2 way up front at the "catifold", and the rear O2 midways.
