Have you seen TSB NTB00-008b, Titled "2000 MAXIMA LOW/NO IDLE WHEN SHIFTING INTO "D" OR "R" RANGE AFTER COLD START"?

If your car falls in the VIN range, there's an updated ECM calibration to correct the problem.
