I have seen the retaining pin on the distributor drive gear break at least 3 times. Even if it looks good, remove it and replace it. Or the hole on the distributor shaft may be wallowed out. The first time I saw this On a Ford it drove me crazy for 1/2 a day. ... Login to read more.
