I too once encountered a similar problem on a 1991 Nissan [...] my case i used a tdc tool and discovered that i was getting to tdc with the piston stiil somewhat way down in the cylinder in two out of the four cylinders(2and3) I was advised by folks here on iA... Login to read more.
