I agree with Bill about the scan tool. Snap On's "Codes & Data" mode is "diagnostic mode" on the Tech1 which if memory serves commands a 1000 rpm idle among other things like different advance, closed loop criteria etc. "Open" mode is the same as "Road Test" ... Login to read more.
