I'm pretty sure that pinging can be caused by a bad coil. Nissan has a TSB for the 2000 Maxima for a code P1320 (igniiton coil primary) and pinging. The correction is to replace all of the igntion coils. There are six coils on this six cylinder eng... Login to read more.
