I'm thinking you've heard of the early Duramax (diesel) issues or the ones converting from central to multiport (gas 4.3-5.7) which wouldn't apply to your '97 7.4. That's not saying I didn't miss something but I'm not seeing anything on the 7.4 for injectors. Login to read more.
