Yep! Did that once 25 yrs ago, took the pan off 360 Dodge truck, put it on a 360 Dodge motor home (van). Dipstick on motorhome was 10 1/2 miles long and needed the guide inside oil pan. Truck didn't need the guide. Made a helluva noise.
