I think you fixed it with the kinked hose.

If you lack a scan tool with bi-dir controls on this, set up the Mastertech to watch FTP. Pinch off the hose 'tween the vent valve and the canister and energize the purge valve 'till you pull a 7 to 10in H2O vacuum.... Login to read more.
