Likely has sulfur build up on the sender unit. Ford, in one TSB, recommended use if Techron in the tank to clean them up... which I've never tried. In some newer TSBs Ford says replace the senders due to the sulfur build up. The older vehicles, like that '03, ... Login to read more.
