I believe the magic number is 30 seconds. Most vehicles will have a fuel savings when shut off for periods of non-use for more than 30 seconds. That said, I wouldn't suggest doing it on a 10 yr old vehicle with an original starter motor in heavy dense traffic... Login to read more.
