Re: Belt on 99 Contour with VCT
Exactly right. The cam (not the sprocket) needs to be turned ahead to recheck the timing alignment after the engine has been turned over two times. The valve springs are what hold the cam back but twisting it ahead returns it to its normal at rest state. Login to read more. ![]()
