I have not experienced this.....but I'm sure it happens, and here's why: As the pad wears, it loses mass, and will therefore operate at a higher temperature than a new brake pad. The groove in the pad is mainly for noise prevention, not cooling. Worn out pads ... Login to read more. ![]()
