Maybe you can contact a CAT Rebuilder and have the old unit tested.

My understanding of CAT Rerbuilding is that used CATs are tested .... then refurbished, ie flanges / heat shields/threads etc made OK again. The CATs are never gutted, only tested... Login to read more.
