According to the Napa timing belt book I have, The 95, 96, and 97 Monte Carlo are an interfearance engine. I do remember about 5 years ago a tech put a t belt on a 3.4 Chevy because the belt broke and when he started it it had upper end noise and a misfire. th... Login to read more.
