a simple "lab" test, stir a sample of DOT-3, 4, or 5.1 into fresh water. It will cloud the water as it binds. Do the same with DOT-5, it floats, the water does not bind with DOT-5. (same goes for oils if you suspect contamination in a brake system, quick go-no... Login to read more. ![]()
