I had the same deal in a Chevy van 5.7 R motor. I replaced the cam/lifters/dist and it hasnt been back with any cmp codes or driveability in 2 years. Might have been a weird cut on the cam gear. But I couldnt see it with the cam and HVS in my hand Login to read more.
