Hi Howard,

FWIW.......I have never seen a sludge problem in VW transverse mounted (east/west) 1.8t motors on the Golf/Jetta. The sludge problem seems to be confined to the north/south mounted 1.8t engines as on Audi or Passat. Is that not your experience?
