This may sound as little crazy, but a bad radiator cap can cause it.

On a slow cool down, the cap may not hold enough vacuum to draw out of the resevoir, so you get air in the system. Now car gets hot and t-stat opens a bit late because of the air. Now the f... Login to read more.
