SIR Load Tool - Is it really necessary?

Hello All.

Had a 1999 Chev Silverado in with a Air bag light on steady. Hooked the mastertech up which gave 2 codes. (1021 AND 1026 ).

Cleared the codes and code 1026 came back. This code B1026 means -- Driver Deployment Loop Open.
