Probably not if the engine hasn't been overheated and is quiet once it warms up. As Fred stated, these engines have quite a bit of piston slap when they're cold. Once the pistons heat and grow down the pins they shut up. Old Ford V8s like the 361/391 were even... Login to read more. ![]()
