Update. I took a closer look at the wiring diagrams. The level sensor is wired to the Instrument cluster and not the ECU.

The coolant temp sensor is a 4 terminal sensor which CAN be wired to the ECU and the instrument cluster on some models but not this one.... Login to read more.
