The U-joints at the end of each tube (all of them really) need to be in the exact same position. So if you sighted up the entire shaft the cups would be at 12 O'clock, 3 O'clock, 6 O'clock, & 9 O'clock. This is sometimes disturbed when a slip yoke is slid apar... Login to read more.
