I can tell you that the Bosal system we saw on an 89 Mercedes 190E was quite loud. That exhaust wasn't brand spanky new, but fairly fresh looking.

Napa/Walker has never given us that issue, but OE usually lasts longer. OE isn't always ridiculously priced.
