93 Cougar overheats when it shouldn't

My personal '93 Cougar 5.0 overheats at highway speeds only when the A/C is on. It does not overheat in town under any condition, and it does not overheat on the highway with the A/C off.

The A/c is the original factory R12 system that works flawlessly.
