If it sounds out of time, maybe it is. Some vehicles can have a sprocket spin on a shaft so even though the belt is set up right, the shafts aren't synced. If you can pull the VC easily, I'd put it on TDC #1 compression and verify TDC with a probe in the plug ... Login to read more.
