just finished a 2003 Jetta, 2.0 gas, 47k miles, with an overheat at speeds of over 50 for at least 10 minutes. If you shifted to neutral (auto) the temp would immediately drop from near 260 back to 190. It would never go over 190 in the shop and fans would cyc... Login to read more.
