1999 Mustang Dash going bonkers

Hi,

1999 Mustang intermittently dash guages peg them selves one side or the other. When this happens car cranks, starts, stalls. You can actually watch the needles on the guages going left then right.........not a GT but 3.8l Engine........any suggestions
